Yikai Si

I am an undergraduate student in the Zhiyuan Honors Program (Physics Track) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I study computational neuroscience under the supervision of Prof. Shanshan Qin. In fall 2027, I will begin my Ph.D. studies under the supervision of Dr. Liu Ziyin.

My research interests span computational neuroscience and deep learning theory, especially representation, training dynamics, and generalization in artificial and biological neural systems.

Continual-learning rules shape representational drift

Yikai Si, Shanshan Qin

arXiv preprint, 2026

We study how different continual-learning rules shape representational drift across visual and cognitive tasks.

Research Experience

Representational Drift in Deep Continual Learning

Undergraduate Research Assistant, Computational Neuroscience Group · Supervisor: Shanshan Qin

Built sequential-task benchmarks in PyTorch and compared continual-learning methods. Measured layer-wise representational drift on fixed probes.

DCI-LLM: Multimodal Few-Shot Prediction for Double Cone Ignition Laser Fusion

Supervisors: Xiaohui Yuan and Jie Zhang

Combined laser power traces, diagnostic images, and text metadata to predict peak plasma density timing, using signal tokenization and cross-modal attention.
